This young peasant woman holds a distaff of wool in her hand. She is traditionally placed near the flocks of sheep in the Provençal Nativity Scene. She turns up the bottom of her apron to catch the scraps of wool that fall while she is patiently spinning.
Cette jeune paysanne tient une quenouille de laine à la main. Traditionnellement elle est placée près des troupeaux de moutons dans la crèche provençale. Elle remonte le bas de son tablier pour rattraper les lambeaux de toison qui tombent pendant qu’elle file patiemment.
