The Donkey is a familiar animal within the Nativity Scene. The legend says that his breath kept the Newborn Child warm in his manger. We can trace the origins of the Donkey back to the first living Nativity Scene accredited to Saint Francis of Assisi.

L’Ane est un animal familier de la crèche. D’après la légende, c’est son souffle qui réchauffe le Nouveau-Né dans le mangeoir. On retrouve les origines de l’Ane dans la première crèche vivante imaginée par Saint François d’Assise.
